Watson Animal Converging Standing Chest Press
Our Iso Standing Chest Press has been a very popular machine for a long time—we’ve been fortunate enough to sell these to thousands of facilities worldwide. All have received very positive feedback. We’ve now taken that same great design and made some thoughtful upgrades to bring you a new version.
Introducing the all-new Animal Converging Standing Chest Press—we’ve kept all the features that made the original Iso Standing Chest Press so successful.
You still get independent arms, allowing you to train unilaterally. When training both arms simultaneously, you avoid muscle imbalances often caused by machines that don’t have this feature.
Another retained feature is the adjustable handles. The handles slide easily up and down depending on the user’s height. They move smoothly along stainless steel uprights, delivering both durability and a premium aesthetic that doesn’t degrade over time.
Where this machine differs from the previous model is in the handle positioning. They are now slightly more central, sitting behind the box section for the horizontal and 45-degree grips. The parallel handles can be positioned either outside or inside the uprights, depending on whether you prefer a wide or narrow press. You have a total of six grip options, as the handles can be removed and reversed.
- Independent arms for unilateral training and balance
- Adjustable handles to accommodate different user heights
- Smooth sliding motion on stainless steel uprights
- Six grip options: horizontal, 45-degree, narrow/wide parallel with reversible handles
- Converging movement for chest-focused peak contraction and muscle overload
- Foot release system for easy entry and exit
- Left-side foot pedal creates an open and accessible design
- Compact footprint suitable for small and large facilities
- Rear internal plate loading—no protruding pins, full weight capacity
The movement pattern is now converging, meaning the arms come together toward the center. This enhances chest engagement, providing maximum tension and a peak contraction at the top of the movement. Combined with a natural drop-off in resistance, this also allows for overloading in the lengthened position of the muscle.
A standout feature of this machine is the foot release system. This brilliant addition makes it incredibly easy to get in and out of the machine—a huge plus for larger users or those with shoulder injuries or impingements.
How does it work? It’s simple and effective:
Step into the machine and press forward—this automatically disengages the foot pedal, allowing the arms to move back beyond the start position.
After your set, press forward again and use your left foot to press the foot pedal down. This brings the safety bars forward, catching the arms in the original position so you can exit the machine safely and comfortably.
Thanks to the foot pedal being located on the left-hand side, we’ve created a clear and open design, making entry and exit smooth—without having to step over multiple components.
Finally, the machine boasts a compact footprint—a crucial feature for any facility. Whether you're working with a large gym or a more confined space, smart space usage is key. We’ve packed all the features you need into a space-efficient design. Plates load from the rear inside of the machine, meaning no loading pins stick out, allowing for safe, easy loading without compromising on capacity.
